Vic Mensa and Mr. Hudson connect for a song perfect for a cold and rainy day. Mr Hudson kicks off with his vocals over the stripped down production that’s led without any percussion at first. The title is very fitting, it has a Coldplay inspired sound from earlier in their career, despite the fact both artists admit to their dislike for the group at separate points in the song. Vic Mensa later comes in with his own verse. He starts off on a more mellow tip but his tone gets more aggressive as he continues. It’s a solid collab between both artists and hopefully, this is an indication of more music from Mr Hudson in the near future.

Quotable Lyrics
I left you in tears at the airport
Cryin’ inside but I ain’t make a sound
It’s ironic not even TSA can save us now
She breakin’ down, we breakin up, my lady luck

On numerous occasions, Mr. Hudson and Vic Mensa have worked together and built up a great relationship. Mr. Hudson recruited Vic Mensa for the “Coldplay” single in 2017, although they worked together for Vic’s projects a couple of times. Mr. Hudson blessed his fans with the single “ANTIDOTE” earlier this year, and now he met Vic Mensa to honor the Windy City. Premiering on Billboard earlier today, the two artists came through with a dark, electronic single that was meant to honor the hometown of Chicago’s Vic Mensa. Vic performs an emotional vocal on the track, turning Chicago into a woman he should have left in the city.
“I knew I wanted it to sound like Chicago once I had the song,” Hudson said. “The drums were really important. I called Vic when I got the track sounding right with Johan. We’re always a good fit because he’s not afraid to wear his heart on the sleeve of his motorcycle jacket. I went to his studio, which looks like a punk music venue, and he cut his verse in a couple of shots.
